Saint Foundation is Proudly Registered in The Gambia. 2018/C6692
Welcome to... Saint Foundation
We are a small Charity Organisation based in The Gambia, West Africa.
The name 'Saint Foundation' has been in existence since 2007 although not registered at the time, but have been active in the areas of community building for Women, Youth and Children's activities and providing for the Sick and Needy.
We are motivated to assist other established charities to aid their rural and urban community development. To encourage women, youth and children that are affected very poorly in society by reaching them with a meaningful intervention aimed at obtaining and accessing economic resources that will improve their livelihood.
We are focused on helping and making the world around us a better, happier and safer place. With the help of our Main sponsor and tireless staff, we organize community-building events, good deeds day events, rural area visitation, give away food and cloths, and in-depth training sessions for our volunteers.
The Gambia is one of the smallest African countries both geographically and population wise. With an estimated population of about 1.8 million (National Census 2013), national data reveals that about 50 per cent of this figure are children and youth under 18. By working with children, women and youth,
SAINT FOUNDATION therefore caters directly for half of The Gambia’s population, who equally constitute a large and significant part of the country’s development structure.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for supporters, and volunteers to help us make our vision a reality.
We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team! Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you.
To ensure that the Community Benefit all these things, we have practical tools in place for accomplishing the visionary end of Saint Foundation. We do this work by convening, engaging, mobilizing and supporting the community, "The only way we can create a great future for our community is if we do our work in a way that reflects universally shared values. This ensures we do not squander our time and resources rationalizing our actions, and it helps ensure we are not potentially squandering our community's goodwill.
-I don't want to live in the kind of world where we don't look out for each other. Not just the people that are close to us, but anybody who needs a helping hand. I know that I can't change the way other people thinks, or what they choose to do, but I can do my bit.”

GOOD NEWS FOR GAMBIAN GIRLS
A big win for girls on the banning of child marriage and conquering FGM in The Gambia. Banjul, 27 July 2016 - The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) welcome the pronouncement made by His Excellency Yahya Jammeh (Former) President of The Gambia on Wednesday 6 July 2016 Banning Child Marriage in the Republic of The Gambia, and the 21 July 2016 enactment of the Children's Amendment Bill (amendment of the Children’s Act 2005) by The National Assembly, criminalizing the act. This significant turning point in development for the country came less than a year after the unprecedented presidential pronouncement in December 2015 banning Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in The Gambia. Thanks to the women advocate who went through this ordeal and fought for FGM to be abolished, Special Thanks to the women like
Dr. Isatou Touray.
